Fire damaged houses

One of my neighbors house was damaged by fire(no one was home thank God). I assumed they had insurance and would get it repaired. But it has been almost 5 months. Now I am thinking this might be a good rehab(no experience with fire damage).

I am guessing insurance for whatever reason isn't coming in. Or is it normal to take this long, insurance claim on something like this is probably complicated.

My first fire rehab turned out to be a house that we needed to demolish.

We put a modular home on the foundation of the house that caught fire.
