Contract to sell a property prior to closing
New to Biggerpockets, but it looks like a great website. I need some advice. I have a property under contract to purchase in Florida (ie, equitable title). I have a buyer that is interesting in purchasing the home. A real estate agent is involved, and she is telling me that her broker is telling her that we can not enter into a contract to sell prior to closing. This is part of a government program that procludes assigning the contract (we have to close on the property first). I don't understand why we cannot enter into a contract TODAY that is subject to our closing on the property. Does anyone have any advice or experience that can offer guidance?
