cool trick for saving time on prep with an airless paint sprayer

Hey Kids, I just stumbled upon a pretty good trick quite by accident. I was priming out the living room of a rehab I'm getting ready to rent and in my haste I grabbed my Sherwin-Williams Glossy White that I use for trim instead of my SW primer. Well, I didn't notice until after I finished the ceiling due to my crusty goggles... well anyway, let me just say, it was actually a blessing. We spend a good amount of time on prep, but are getting a little more relaxed with experience. So the ceiling had some texture (old house, pretty common) that probably could have used a skim coat. When the glossy white paint cured we were left with a very smooth looking ceiling. I then did a quick flat blast over the top, and Wah Lah! The ceiling looks perfect, and only took a fraction of the time. Of course the gloss is a bit more pricey, but I think the time it saved on skim coating, sanding ect was well worth the money. Obviously if there are HUGE defects you'll need to address them, but as far as priming an otherwise crappy surface it WORKS AWESOME! I can snap some shots to give you an idea if you're interested.

Cheers!
Mark
