two part toilet question..glacier bay
hi there
I inherited a glacier bay two part toilet with a recent property purchase. lucky me! The toilet works ok, but it is leaking from the tank, apparently through the two bolt holes that secure the tank to the bottom part. Here is the crazy thing, it is leaking only when actively flushing...otherwise the underside of the tank is dry and the tank is full (not a slow leak). Has anyone ever heard of this? and do you have any hints? I would pitch it in the dumpster, but the dumpster is filling rapidly so i will save it if I can. thanks
Karen

If it was leaking from where you say, it would leak at all times, not just during flushing.
My guess is it is leaking from where the water supply connects to the top tank. That is close to the bolts and may be the source of the water you are seeing.
If I am right, you may just need to tighten it. Maybe get a new water supply line if that doesn't work.
Other idea: there is a big rubber gasket (hidden from view) that seals the connection between the top tank and the bottom toilet. THAT will leak only when flushed. Once I installed a toilet and forgot that gasket entirely. Everything seemed fine, holding water, no leak - until I flushed!
You will have to remove the top tank to check out my other idea.
