Handyman or specialist

Hi Everyone

I would like to get my second bathroom remodeled; however, I don't know what route to go in.  Do I hire a handyman to replace the tub, sheet-rock, and vanity and then hire a tile guy to do the tile.  Or do I hire a hire a handyman to do everything and let them find the help they need to compete the whole job themselves.  Don't know which route to follow, please help. Thank you.

Replied

In Florida like in many states there are laws about working on people's homes for money.  The only way to hold someone accountable and to make sure that you don't lose your investment is to hire licensed and insured contractors.  I could write a book with all the horror stories that I know about from unlicensed contractor activity.  So my advice is to be cautious who you hire.  You could end up a story in my book.
