Landscaping winter rehab in Maryland

Maryland weather is unpredictable this time of year...it was 70 degrees on Christmas, but will be below freezing at night this week. The rehab work won't be finished until later this month. I know landscaping can add some nice curb appeal, but what good is it if the plants die or they are under snow when it hits the market in late January/early February? There is no existing garden, terrace or flower bed, but there are a couple of existing bushes I've kept. I trimmed those and removed some trees, bushes and weeds. Other than that, what kind of landscaping I should do, if any on my rehab property? Thanks!
