Trash Hacking
I've searched BP to no avail on best ways to get rid of trash and haven't really come up with much. Near me, it's $59.90 including tax to dump 1 ton at the transfer station. Last project, there were 7 tons of debris. I paid $1138.80 (discounted rate) to get rid of those 7 tons via dumpsters. That's $719.50 out of pocket and into the dumpster contractor's pockets, not including any volume discount he likely gets per ton.
Combine the out of pocket money with scheduling multiple drops and pick ups, it's a pain. Not to mention sometimes you think you only have a little trash, and it turns into a lot of trash.
After a few projects, you've "dumped" $5K in profit easily.
Does anyone have any trash hacks?! What are you doing to save money on trash hauling? Do you have your own dump truck? What kind? What fee do you pay to dump?
I would rather roll a small truck on the job site and dump it once a week to save money and logistically make it easier. Are others doing this?
Input appreciated! Happy Hauling!
