What to do in the basement?

I have a triplex where one unit is in the basement.  There is definitely moisture in the air, so I bought a dehumidifier.  My question is, what should I do with the flooring.  Right now, there is ugly blue carpet in one room, and even uglier orange carpet in the bedroom.  I would like to lay laminate, but my concern is that in the winter it would be too cold to walk on.  I would rather not lay carpet because I know I will have to replace it almost every year give or take.  And tile would be super cold.  With the moisture in the air, the unit is very cool now even when  the temperature outside is in the 90s.  What should I do?

@Sharad M.  I have not.  Is the the stuff brandon turner mentioned on one of the podcasts?  Will it be warmer to walk on then laminate?
