How to compare prices easily...

I find it really hard to find and compare prices for things like appliances, tubs/toilets/sinks, fixtures, etc. Does anybody have any tips or tricks on how to find and compare items? I live in winnipeg, mb, canada so any american comparison websites might not be the best idea. Thanks for your help!
