Obtain ADU permit in Alameda, CA

Xuming Yu

Hi All,

I am looking to convert the basement into an ADU hence I will need to interact with local authority in order to obtain the building permit. If you've worked with some affordable Architects in Alameda, CA, could you please recommend them to me?

You can use anyone really in CA who can help out, but of course they want to see the place. There are some places online too that have cookie-cutter blueprints too that you can check out as well!

Find a drafter that's familiar with construction and codes. You don't have to have an Architect.  Talk to some small contractors and ask them  if they know anyone that can do plans.

Hi Xuming

I can probably help. I know those houses in Alameda sometimes don't have the full required 7' in the basement, but that's stuff that can be figured out.

DM me if you are still looking for an architect - I am an affordable one! I'm in East Bay too
