Best method for furnishings/supplies?

Hey everyone. I'm new to this website and the whole house-flipping thing. But I'm working on my first project and need some advice.

What have you found to be the best way to get furnishings and supplies for your homes? IKEA and Home Depot? I'm finding it a big pain to make sure everything fits and looks good together (I'm not an interior designer, after all). Is there an easier way to make sure everything matches before I start painting, especially when I'm trying to stay at or under budget?

(Also, if you have any pointers about stuff to be aware of in this part of the process that I might not be aware of, please let me know!) Thanks guys!
