Does having thick floor threshold between rooms affect resale?

Does anyone have any input about having the hardwood flooring in 1 room be a full 3/4" higher than the rest of the flooring in the house? Would this be a major turn-off for buyers?

I would like to put unfinished hardwood down in a kitchen then have all of the flooring in the house refinished. Due to an odd characteristic stemming from an old addition, it will be too involved (i.e. expensive) to replace the sub-floor so that the new wood will be on the same level as that of the rest of the house. The house is about 1500sf 3/2 with ARV of about $250k. It is an older home in an older neighborhood, so I think other houses probably also have thicker thresholds in places too.

I could save some money and lessen the height difference by putting in an engineered wood floor, but then the finish won't match with the rest of the house (not to mention I don't think it is as good of a product).
