Rookie looking to learn and network

Im 23 and live in the north west suburbs of Chicago I’m looking to do some networking and learning from more experienced RE investors. I’m a complete rookie but have read a few of the BiggerPockets books by Brandon Turner and I am absolutely in love with the idea of buy and hold investment properties. I am really hungry for knowledge so I can be prepared for when I begin to take my first steps in this journey. So if you guys have any recommendations on RE clubs or anything of that nature I’d love to get out and meet new people who can put me in the right direction. Thanks!

@Kevin Krause welcome to the hunt.  Chicago is a very competitive market but its also a huge area.  What areas are you focused?  Are you looking to owner occupy or looking purely for an investment?
If you are looking for networking I recommend attending the next Chicago Area Real Estate Investment Association (CAREIA) cash flow game or networking event.  They are both free and there is a ton of talent willing to discuss whats worked for them.  Check out:

If you have any specific questions let me know.  I am new to the game too, but always willing to help with what I can.
