Airbnb Sacramento - Short term rental permit

Sean Anayah
Posted

Hi all,

Hope everyone is healthy and staying cool in this heat! I am writing to ask a question about Airbnb hosting in the City of Sacramento. I own a home along the Broadway corridor near Sellands and am considering Airbnb'ing it now that the tenants are moving out. This is not my primary residence. I am happy to pay the fee for the short term rental permit, the business tax, and the transient tax. However, I am weary about the conditional use permit, because I think that this would need formal approval from the City council, correct? As well as some public input. Can anyone tell me there experience with the short term rental permit & taxes, as well as with the conditional use permit?

Also, are there any Sacramento meet-ups happening soon?

Thank you,

Sean
