Walk Through Your Day

Some days I feel like I'm really struggling and that I'll never reach the level of success that I want. Others, I feel that the pieces are all coming together.

I'm trying to establish a solid routine of sorts that I can rely on day in and day out to help me reach my goals. I'm into short sales for the time being. SO my day usually goes something like this -

wake up, meditate and visualize my goals being completed(30 mins)

check emails, check here for any new interesting threads, catch up on news(30 - 60 mins depending on the forums)

Follow up on any deals I have going, return any calls from new leads, update files, etc(0-120 mins)

get new leads (1 - 2x/wk), get mailers together(handwritten direct mail) (2-3 hrs or more depending on how many leads i get)

and the rest of my day is spent generally screwing around with my kids, and other non-sense. I usually have a few hours during business hours that I know I could be doing something more productive with. Nick "Motiv8td" suggested I go door knocking, which I know would be productive and will start doing tomorrow.

I'd like to know what your day is like no matter what type of investing model you use and what things you do to stay motivated and keep you hungry. I hope it will help everyone get some new ideas about how they could/should spend their down-time and be more successful.

I'm out.

You'd hate me if I walked you through a typical day for me.

It's easier to keep a canoe afloat that to try to raise a barge. You do a lot of stuff in your day. Cut out 80% of your ineffective stuff. Remove 80% of the material encumbrances from your life. Don't do 80% of the "investing" activities that are nothing more than busy work to make yourself feel like you're doing something. Eliminate and streamline. I have a successful day if I finish a list of 6 things I decide I'm going to do.
