Go to the magnifying glass next to your profile image up top. Search for "real estate vs stock market" or something similar. You should get plenty of discussions over the years.

If you search a real estate investing website, you'll find most opinions are biased towards real estate. If you search a stock market website, you'll find opinions biased towards stocks. Your best bet is to read information from public blogs that approach both options objectively. Example: https://www.nerdwallet.com/article/investing/real-estate-vs-...

The problem is that these articles typically address averages. For real estate the will calculate what your return would be if you purchase a single-family home at market rate and hold it for ten years. What they don't account for is that I could buy the home 15% below market rate. I can make improvements that increase the value. I bought in a location where market growth increases faster than average. There are many variables that increase real estate returns and they are rarely addressed when comparing it to the stock market.
