My coworker invited me to a Ron Legrand seminar being held in Los Angeles early January. Has anyone ever been to any of his seminars? Is it worth the $100 fee?

Thanks.

Not a seminar but I was a part of his "Gold Club" for $1 for the first month. Then I cancelled before giving him my money. Some of which consisted of seminar videos, so I've sort of been. Is it lots of good information? Sure. If you're new will you be overwhelmed? Yep. Is there a cure for that? Nope. All I'm trying to say is - these things aren't designed to hold your hand. They are designed to make them money. They are a sales machine first and foremost. They're selling you and triggering your emotional buttons to go.

The reality is no matter what guru you watch 1.) They want your money as they build their passive income dream 2.) You will have to build your own personal plan to attack REI, it's certainly a lot of information and not get rich quick. Honestly going to these guys delays the process of getting going in my opion because once the adrenaline high wears off from these ultra sales junkies selling you, you finally realize...oh crap, I still have to do everything they said and get out of my dreams.

Ron's Gold Club had some good stuff - but it's just littered with attempts to get you to join this and that, go to this summit and this seminar - it just feels like a tool to get you to buy more stuff, and that get's really frustrating. Here's what you should do: Go on Meetup.com, pick one local REI group in your area, go every week and meet everyone. That is your best plan of attack.
