Quiet title against HUD
Thank you for inviting me to join this forum. My question is about Quiet Title action. I am trying to acquire a quit claim deed to a property in my neighborhood. The property has been abandoned for probably 4 years now. The owners are deceased, however, there is a son who is the executor of the trust that the property is in. The house has a reverse mortgage on it through the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. There have been multiple incidences of squatters and drug activity in the house. I have been in contact with the executor of the trust many times in the last couple of years. I have assisted in helping him to evict the tenants and he has boarded up the house and posted no trespassing signs. As the house has a reverse mortgage for about three times the value today, the son really has no interest in keeping this house or maintaining it. If I'm able to acquire a quitclaim deed to this property I would then like to file for quiet title action. I am wondering if anybody has any experience with that against HUD. Again, the house has been abandoned for several years, has had lots of previous drug activity, and problems with squatters. I believe that this house may have fallen through the cracks and might be worth trying to quiet title action. Thank you for your consideration.
