Adding an extra tenent to an ongoing house hack
Currently I am House hacking my first real estate deal. It is a two bedroom two bath house. In the coming weeks I am going to have another roommate move in and live on the couch for awhile. My question is, should I lower my current renter's rent payments because of the added tenant? or should I keep all the added profits for myself. Thank you for any input you may have on the situation.

Is your tenant okay with having this extra couch surfer? As a house hacking tenant, I would not be thrilled to have someone moved onto the couch in my living room ESPECIALLY if I was still paying the same amount of rent. It's definitely an imposition on their space and lifestyle as well.
I suppose you don't have to lower their rent payments, but I certainly would to keep the peace. To me, it would make sense for them to expect some form of compensation since there is now a person living in their shared common space.
