HELOC / checking account

Hi Everyone, Recently I listened to a podcast with Clayton Morris (not a BP podcast, I know...FOR SHAME!) and he mentioned a strategy about using your HELOC as your main checking account. Having your paychecks going directly to the HELOC and as you're paying it down, you're not accruing much of any interest. Meanwhile, you can make big lump sum payments to the principal of your primary... It sounds like an amazing strategy... Has anyone tried it? Can anyone at BP make a podcast around this strategy?
