@Adrian Chu  We have to be very aware of the cultural climate we live in - know the rules, abide by them, and proactively lobby for -and make the case for common sense laws and against restrictive rules that ultimately make it more difficult and expensive for the very ones who need the most help. 

The article gave the solution:

"To avoid discrimination, according to the AG's office, landlords must first consider what a felony conviction was for, how long ago it was, and what the applicant has done since before rejecting a potential tenant."

In another case, legislation is being promoted to restrict and define how we conduct our business.  Portland is floating a law requiring landlords to pay moving expenses for 'evictions without cause' -should you raise rents more than 10%/year.
