Home heating- oil vs gas

Hi BP,

So I just bought my first duplex which I am currently living in.  Here in Westchester County, NY the winter has been cold and snowy.  Since moving in back in late November I've already spent $1,320 on oil.  I know my furnace and equipment are ~30 y/o.

The house does already have a natural gas hookup (for the stove) which my plumber said is half the battle.

I only plan on living in this unit for 1-2 years while I do a 'live-in fix' before moving out and renting entire house.

3 month average $/gal- $2.35

Natural gas price and provider: $N/A- Con Edison

Question: scrap the oil setup and go natural gas or perhaps update my current system?

TIA,

Kevin
