Why are there no REI clubs in or near Lakewood, NJ?

I am a new investor in Lakewood NJ, looking to network with other investors. When I look up the REI clubs near me, most are at least an hour away, which is very unpractical for me as I have young children and can't spend that much time away from home. I am interested in creating a new group that would meet closer to my home, but am unsure how to go about that. I would love to hear from fellow investors in my neighborhood, or from investors that have created such groups in their areas.

There are several meetups in Monmouth county.  One in Belmar and one in Asbury Park.  They meet once a month.
