What method to use for House hacking?

I’m curious to know from all the house hackers out there what you guys used for your first property.

I’m running into some dilemmas here that would prevent me from getting my first loan FHa style. I want to move to Montana to house hack a 4 bedroom house and I live in California I currently have a steady job but, when I move I’ll need to look for somewhere to work. And how will I be approved for a loan traditionally if I just moved? Is there a chance they will approve it?

Second is it worth it to look for private lenders who would act as the bank and provide the loan and I just pay them back with interest in that sense?

What do you guys recommend and how do I process! I’m open to learning and growing and any info is helpful. Thank you guys!!!
