Hello all,

My name is Tim and I live in the East Cobb area of Marietta, Georgia just north of Atlanta. My experience is none. I teach myself most anything I need to know through recommendations and research. 11 years ago I needed a job and sat in a guy's attic for a month and a half working for free as I studied how to program. I am now one of the main developers for his company.

I have been burnt out and tired for a very long time. About 4 months ago I woke up and I had an epiphany. I no longer wanted to work for someone else and spend the rest of my years making them money. A job has always been something you were told you needed to have but I realized most people that are enjoying life are those that have their money working for them! So I started reading books on investing in stocks, index funds, real estate etc. I see the 1000 ft view and very excited but have no clue how to get there. I just know I will.

I stumbled across this website and glad I did. I am looking for as much info as I can find and hopefully a mentor. There are volumes and volumes of info out there and a true mentor can cut right to what is really important and save you the many hours and mistakes you could make. So a mentor would be ideal but until then, I will continue to do what I do and that is research, research, research.

Sorry for the long winded intro, I am very excited at the idea of walking away from this desk and taking care of the many people in my life that deserve it.

Thank you for your time and I am sure we will talk again soon.
