The FNG... is me... and I'm so excitedly nervous to be here
Hello everyone! My name is Mike. I'm a 25 year old, mechanical engineer, obsessed with fitness and health, cars, travel, and obviously investing. I graduated in 2018 with my engineering degree and have been working full-time ever since. With my job, I am very fortunate to be able to travel around the US (and sometimes the globe) and see a lot of interesting stuff! I love it!
I owe a lot of my drive and dedication to fitness. I used to weight 270+ lbs of complete chunk, and one day was just fed up with it. I started out by running Spartan races, and cleaning up my diet, to eventually transitioning into a bodybuilding and powerlifting approach on things. Years later, I am a much happier and healthier version of myself but it took so much hard work, sacrifice, and dedication to get here. As such, I feel like it has trickled or poured over into every other area of my life. I do have a website sort of explaining my journey, but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post that here. If anyone ever has any questions about this, feel free to ask me. One of my passions and goals in life is to inspire others to make a change and encourage them to stick through with is.
As of right now, I am living at home with my parents putting away as much money as I can, and working as much overtime as I can. Real estate fascinates me greatly. The whole idea of owning these properties and running them like a business, as stated in "The Book on Rental Property Investing", brings out a certain type of excitement that I don't find elsewhere. The only thing is, I'm a complete noobie at it, and quite nervous to take that plunge. I see properties on the internet that I'm interested in and just have cold feet about even going to look at them. I know the previously mentioned book describes certain things to look for but, I feel that since I have no experience, I wouldn't even really know what I'm looking at. In addition to that, making that first move is a bit terrifying, to be quite honest. I don't know if I'm ready financially, when I might be, what a deal maybe, etc. I'm definitely having a hard time getting things situated and figured out. Did anyone else ever feel like this when they started their journey? I'd love to hear from you guys. If you have any other questions about me, please don't hesitate to ask or reach out!
