Hi everyone, I'm Stuart.

I'm from Central Ohio and I am roughly two weeks away from my 38th birthday.

This isn't actually my first post. It's my second. My first one was also an introduction though but it was a while ago. I took a step back from the podcast and the forums for a bit and started focusing on saving up some money. I had zero saved last time I posted and I was feeling kind of glum about it. I know that probably wasn't the best way to think about things but it's the truth.

I'm not at my goal number of savings yet but I am getting very close. This is all still fairly new to me so I know I'll have a bunch of questions going forward.

To start, I am planning on doing house hacking. At least in the beginning. I currently work as a semi-truck driver doing long-haul loads. I plan on switching to a local driving job when I acquire a property. I don't have anyone but myself to take care of so I am able to put a decent portion of my pay into my savings account.

I am ready to get out of the W-2 life and have more of my life/time back. I'm hoping that within the next few months I will ready to make some offers and then close on a good deal. Right now though, I'm trying to learn all I can.

I'm looking forward to connecting with like-minded individuals through this group and learning from the ones that have come before me. I'm also looking forward to getting my first property and starting the next chapter of my life.

Thank you in advance for your time.

Welcome and great to hear you're ready to make a dive head first into rental property investing.

For the time being, I'd say keep saving, lower your expenses, and make sure your credit is in great shape to get the best loan possible.

Columbus is a great rental market. It is getting harder to find 1% rules in good neighborhoods but a lot of investors do very well with buying cash flowing C class rentals, having a property manager, and repeating.

Welcome!
