Picking a Brokerage: A little about me and the culture I seek.
Hello BP!
This is my first post, and extremely excited to be making it! I was introduced to BP about six months ago. Three months prior, I read Rich Dad, Poor Dad (RDPD). The combination lit a fire within me, pushing me to learn more about real estate, while adopting the mindset of an investor.
This led me to my conclusion, but certainly not the end of my story. I decided in order to be a successful real estate investor, I should start as a real estate agent. Why, you ask? Aha! I'm glad you did. You see, in RDPD, there was a particular section where Robert decided to work at a particular company to improve his sales technique. Thus, furthering his entrepreneurial career. That gave me an idea. How could I put my talents to use, while continuing my education of real estate investing? Pick a position that provides you the ability to save capital, while teaching you what you need and want to know about your future endeavors. The best part of all, I get to work for myself while providing to the community.
I am thirty-one years old, and before all this, I've spent most of my career serving others. Whether in the hospitality sector, the healthcare industry, or politics. I've strived to bring something positive to my community. Up until now, I've only been able to rely on a good attitude and how hard I can work as an employee. However, with the combination of determination, hard work and ambition, I believe I can succeed at becoming the real estate millionaire.
***Now that you know a little about me and how I started on this journey, I need advice. I am stuck between two excellent brokerages and not sure what are the most important factors I should be comparing. Better said, I am new to all this and super confused. What questions should I be asking myself to where I come up with the aha moment like; Yes! This is the right one for me.***
Thank you everyone on BP for the help you have provided. Your mentorship, blog/forum posts, and podcast interviews have helped in a tremendous way. Thank you for all the advice you have, and have yet to give.
