Hey Guys - Newbie from Houston
Hey Guys,
My name is Paul and I’m so happy I found this site while looking for information on strategies to rehab/flip properties. I am truly struck by the openness of the group compared to the pay-for-information marketing programs out there. The knowledge obtained from reading the blogs as well as the newbie guide, in one short day, has me excited to learn more.
I’m currently working in sales at a large maritime cntr shipping company and looking for a chance to make my own path. With no surprise, the majority of people don’t get ahead in corporate life by hard work and not accepting less than everyone’s best. The political game required is not my forte…Results are. I’m looking at leveraging my attention to details and my passion for numbers for a chance at something special.
I live just north of Houston where there is currently a boom going on. The suburbs of The Woodlands, Spring, Klein, and the current development of Spring Woods are seeing great interest. This is mainly due to the development of the new Exxon HQ campus and office complex on one of the last untouched land in Harris County. Homes in the The Woodlands, for instance, are selling fast and for more than asking price. This area is full of homes built in late 70’s and earlier 80’s which are in need of rehab and could be positioned for significant profit. I would think that this would be a great time to get into investing as the development of this new area is expected to last 10+ years with Exxon moving in sometime in late 2014/ early 2015, I believe.
With that said I’m here to learn, and learn more….and when I think I know enough… learn what I’m missing.
Thanks to the site for the great information!

Welcome to BP Paul Salsgiver! This is an amazing site with a lot of information. There is a large group of Houston investors on the site that I'm sure would be happy to help you get started. You are doing the right thing by continuing to educate yourself, but I see a lot of people continuing to learn and never take action. So don't think you have to know everything about the business to get started. Once you are ready to take the next step, the BP community will be ready to help you out. Best of luck!!
