Hello Everyone,

My background in real estate is very limited. I met a man here in Tallahassee (randomly in a subway while I was waiting for my car to be repaired) who referred me to the Bigger Pockets Podcast. I've listened to a few of the Bigger Pockets money podcasts and a few of the Real Estate Podcasts. I've listened to the audiobook "How to Invest in Real Estate" by Joshua Dorkin and Brandon Turner. I joined the bigger pockets forums a little while ago. I am not familiar with forums and I am currently unemployed. I didn't introduce myself when I first joined because I felt intimidated by the professionalism of the posts here.

After taking the time to read some of the guides about posting, I feel confident enough to introduce myself. I am grateful to all the people who worked on the wonderful resources offered here. I'm happy to have access to the wealth of information here. I don't have very much money, so I'm also very grateful this information is available for free.

My immediate goal is very simple. I would like to learn how to make a Personal Financial Statement (advice from the book I mentioned earlier). I'm financially illiterate. I feel a little embarrassed about how I've handled my personal finances up to this point. I'm not aware of my credit score. I'd like to improve my ability to be professional and consistent.

My other goals are to live more cost effectively. I'd like to learn more about house hacking strategies, grocery savings practices, etc. I'm willing to learn anything that will enable me to live more efficiently while finding inexpensive ways to live a fulfilling life (I've read a few articles by Mr. Money Mustache). I would like to do my first real estate deal. However, I understand that I need to be prepared with a plan and a team first. Long ago, my Dad gave me a small plot of land in Lake Placid, FL. I'm not sure what to do with it.

Thank you for taking the time read my post. I've been told by many people that I need to improve my communication skills. I have a hard time knowing how to answer questions concisely. I often find myself thinking out loud, during conversations, while meandering towards the answer they are seeking.

Sincerely,

Stefan Gnapp
