Intro From Dallas

Greetings from Dallas! I wanted to take minute to introduce myself here properly. I joined BP back in the spring of 2012 as I had just purchased my first investment property. I was searching for info to my many questions and am happy that I stumbled upon this community. I have been recommending BP to those I think would find it helpful.
Like I mentioned, I purchased a 3/2 sfh in early 2012. I rehabbed it and have a tenant in the house. I closed on the 2nd in December and it is currently "under construction."
Growing up My Dad had roughly 20 sfr's that I got to have "rent house parties" at while growing up. These were not traditional parties as you my have been lead to beleive. this is what he called it when we would get the lawn mower, brooms, and tools and spend the weekend working. Needless to say when I showed an interest a few years ago he has been a good mentor and lead my in the right direction. He believes in answering my questions and giving advice, but allowing me to learn from experience.
My Goals are to build a "small" portfolio of SFR's while the market allows solid cashflow. Using that cashflow to hopefully get into some commercial deals. My wife and I work full time and no kids yet, so it should allow us to save the money for bigger projects. Thanks a ton to those of you who provide your time an knowledge to give good advice and share your experiences. I hope I can add some positive contribuitons as well.

John
