House hacking in and around Cleveland, Ohio.

I am currently serving my last year of my Army contract and am looking to move home (Northern Ohio). My wife and I would like to start our real estate investing journey renting out a multi-family home. We are currently working toward our goal of saving for a down payment/closing costs and researching the area.

I am looking for advice on the area or on strategies on how to best utilize my V.A. Loan option. Does anyone know if it is worth “saving” for a second or third investment to potentially leverage the $0 down option on a more expensive property?
