New member from Austin, TX

Hi,

I'm a new member from Austin, TX.  I am the GM of our family construction company.  We are a high-end residential general contractor.  I've also been a volunteer firefighter for 18 years and am an instructor for our fire academy.  

I've become interested in generating passive income through rental properties and have been working on educating myself. I am reading books (The Book on Rental Property Investing and The Millionaire Real Estate Investor) and have been listening to the BP Podcast for the last few months. I'm looking forward to getting involved and plan on attending BP meet ups in our area and possibly our local REIA meetings as well.

I'm certainly not looking to quit my day job(s), but real estate investing looks so interesting to me that I will definitely be making it a priority with the goal of closing our first deal by the end of this year. I'm currently interested in SFR and small multi-family and would like our first deal to be somewhere in Texas.

I look forward to continuing my education and starting this new adventure!
