Australian investor looking to get into the American market

Hey everyone :)

For a while I’ve been listening to the podcast and I’m fascinated by the way real estate works over there compared to Australia.

Positive cash flow almost doesn’t exist here and the size of your multi family is awesome. We have some

duplexes but whole unit blocks are rare and hard to come by. A unit block most commonly consists 4-6 units. A majority of buildings have each unit strata titled and sold off individually.

I have some experience; 2 flips and currently hold 3 properties for the long term.

There is still so much for me to learn but I am considering possibly moving over, starting with a few flips to get me on the front foot then roll into the BRRRR strategy and eventually into larger multi family.

I know there are limitations around borrowing money if you’re not a citizen etc and I’m sure plenty of not so obvious hurdles will pop up. If you have made a similar move yourself I’d love to hear about your experience.

Where to move will be another big question to answer but having a quick flick through the forums there’s not shortage of information.

I’m happy to share any information or answer any questions about the market in Australia or just Australia in general
