Hey guys! My name is Aaron Flake and my wife and I live in Everett, Washington about 30 minutes north of Seattle, if there's no traffic (rare). I work at Boeing as a manufacturing engineer. My Dad has been investing in real estate on the side for the last 30 years and has accumulated several rental properties. He also works at Boeing. Last time I asked he was at 60 total units including one commercial building and has never hired a property manager. I have learned a lot through him by asking questions, helping him rehab, communicating with his real estate agent and tenants. I bought my first home at the beginning of 2012 for $130,000 right before all the prices started soaring. It was a single family home that was being foreclosed on in pretty rough shape. My Dad and I rehabbed the interior, exterior, poured a new concrete driveway and back patio and saved a ton of money by doing it ourselves. The home is now valued at $380k and I was recently approved for a $205,000 HELOC so the hunt is on for another investment property. I'm also in the middle of building my families next home in Lynnwood, WA. Framing it in a week! When that house is complete I will hold on to my current home and rent it out. My short term goal is by the end of this year is to have just two rental properties. Long term 100 rental units. I have already learned so much from this site and look forward to learning even more from all of you! If you have any questions feel free to ask!
