Hey everyone!  I've been hanging around Biggerpockets for maybe a month now, watched/listened to a whole bunch of podcasts, YouTube videos, even bought the Ultimate Beginners Guide and and making my way through that.  I currently have a W-2 job in IT that I pretty much hate and a family that I love, which is why I keep going to said job  ;)

I basically want to do REI because I have had enough of the rat race and having to worry all the time about where my money is coming in and how safe is my job. I have always been fascinated with Real Estate and it hasn't escaped me that pretty much all rich people own real property somewhere.

I originally had planned to take some time to educate myself further before jumping in, but recent family events have left me in a position that I am being looked at to do something with a family home, so I guess it's time to get on the horse!  I'm looking forward to hanging out with everyone here and chatting about this stuff, it's taken over a pretty good chunk of my life so far as I've become really into learning everything!

Thanks all, and happy New Year!

Gary Heuston
