Focused on self education

So I’m very new to the real estate field, about as new as they come. At this point I’m focusing on education and my finances as I work a full time job as a registered nurse (9-530 M-F) and want to be smart about this. I’m really looking at this as a way to eventually bridge my career out of health care and into real estate investment and to begin to build a future for myself and my family as I just don’t see it happening punching a clock day in and day out. It pays the bills but it’s difficult to establish wealth with this career. Right now I’m really focusing on fine tuning my finances, eliminating debt, improving my credit score, working on building a savings and educate educate educate. I’ve been listening to podcasts and reading mostly and am looking for input in regards to other ways to prepare myself for the next step. Any recommendations would be highly appreciated! So far my background in real estate has been side work for realtors and property managers getting houses and apartments ready to rent or sell. Mainly cosmetics and minor repairs to the properties. So far I see myself getting into flips, rentals or buy and hold or maybe get myself started with wholesale or even real estate liscense to get my feet wet. Again any input would be highly appreciated!
