Thank you, Bigger Pockets! I have learned so much from you already.
My name is Bleu Turrell, and I live in Bend, OR. I am new to Bigger Pockets, but not completely new to pulling down a hustle with realestate.
I bought my first house (ever) after writing my landlord a letter, then completing the deal with 2K down, 100% seller financing.
My wife and I then saved like crazy to buy our next one. It was a FSBO that was in really rough shape. We kept and rented out our first place, learning how to be a landlord along the way. I've spent years making our latest house modest but beautiful, as it is where we are raising our family (100% my labor & no additional debt).
I'm a big fan of the early posts of Mr. Money Mustache and much of the thinking behind the FIRE movement.
I look forward to my next realestate move, and learning much more from Bigger Pockets.
Cheers!

Thanks, Richard!
Regarding deals in the area during the last downturn..I'm preparing, so I'll be ready this next time! :)
Richard, hustling is the way to go!...Staying motivated, and being excited.
Those of you who like to scout for property...doing so on a motorcycle doubles the fun!
Reflecting back on MMM & FIRE - Not everyone talks about the value of healthy personal finance. Maybe it's not as exciting as sharing lucrative realestate deals, but for us, starting out as average income earners, getting rid of all debt that wasn't earning a return and making informed decisions with our spending has made a huge difference in what choices we could make, and what calculated risks we could take part in.
P.S. - BP, continued thanks for the valuable and entertaining podcasts that have filled my long commute!
Rock On!
