Newb looking to buy & hold in New Haven CT

My first post on BP... I’m Ryan, born and raised in CT. I’ve run my own graphic design business for 6 years, and am now looking to start building a real estate portolfio of buy and hold rentals in the southern CT area. I have a solid understanding of rehabbing and mechanicals having personally renovated our current house, so am hoping to handle a bit of the value-add and maintenance on my own to reduce costs. Of particular interest is a 2-4 unit multi in the New Haven area as my wife works there and we‘re considered relocating.
