Introduction to BiggerPockets!

Cole Schlothauer
Posted

Hello everyone, my name is Cole Schlothauer, I'm currently a senior in high school (just graduated) and will be attending Loyola University of Chicago in the fall to play volleyball. I'm very interested in real estate investing and would love to pursue it as a career at some point in the future. A few questions I have about real estate investing would be the following:

Can I jump straight in to real estate investing out of college without first having another job or source of income?

Should I attempt to begin my investing career while in school or just continue reading and learning and wait till after school when I have more time available?

How did you start your investing career, and what tips would you have for me starting mine?

I'm located in Richmond, Virginia currently, but that could change very easily after college as I'm not too attached to this area. If you are from Richmond or know anyone from around here who would be willing to chat with me and possibly let me shadow or something like that to learn that would be awesome! Also, I will be in Phoenix, AZ in a week for a volleyball tournament, so if you're reading this and are from that area and wouldn't mind giving me an hour of your time and sit down for lunch or something to chat about real estate investing, that would be awesome as well.

Any feedback to this is much appreciated, and it's great to be a part of this community, thanks!
