Student Loans + Real Estate = ?

Hi!

I'm a professional musician turned grad student, finishing up a Physical Therapy degree, while still working as a musician (living in NYC area).  I recently have been immersing myself in the real estate world (podcasts, websites...etc) and would love to become an investor and rental owner in the near future.  However, being that I will be carrying a lot of student loans on my back, I am unsure of how to proceed.  Is there anyone who has been in a similar situation, or anyone who would be able to give advice on what to do?  I'd love to start learning more and looking for deals sometime soon, but unsure if it is wise.

Thank you, and I look forward to being a member of this site!
