Newer investor looking to grow - Columbus, OH

How's it going BP! I've been reading/listening to BP for quite some time now but haven't had my first post until this. No time like the present to start.

Anyway, my name is Andre Bouquet and I'm from Columbus, OH. My full time job is in packaging (specifically corrugated packaging) and I've done that since I graduated college in 2014. Love it. I plan to continue working and work my real estate business on the side.

After getting sick of paying rent for two years, a friend of mine mentioned buying a house and specifically buying with an investor mindset. I really grabbed onto that concept and got into BP through that drive for knowledge about the various ways to invest in real estate.

After lots of reading/listening my friends and I all started pulling the trigger on houses one by one. Mine coming in May of this year. The area of Columbus I purchased in is Olde Towne East (OTE). An up and coming area with houses mostly built in the early 1900's. I'm currently "house hacking" my home with roomates and pulling in some small monthly cash flow on top of living for free.

Through this learning process I've met and networked with a lot of people. Both current investors with homes throughout the city and potential investors that would like to work with me on future deals. My current situation is making the move from my single family home to purchasing my next deal and continuing to grow from there.

My current goal in real estate is to purchase multi family homes in the OTE area of the city. Anything between 2-4 units. I'm looking to start by purchasing rehabbed, cashflowing, properties. I'd like to then get into rehabbing multi units and utilizing the BRRR strategy to continue to fund future deals. I have investing partners in place (still learning the best way to utilize them) as well as target properties. These are off market, from a investor looking to offload his current portfolio over the course of a few years specifically in the area I'd like to invest in. This investor is willing to sell at a nice discount if I purchase multiple and share his resources as we work through his properties. I'm also working to learn his process and network with his contacts to, hopefully, build on his successes.
