Hello BP community!

My name is Beth Murray and I live in Long Beach, CA. I work full-time as an elementary school teacher, but am eagerly gobbling up as much information as I can about real estate. I am currently reading Brandon Turner's book on Rental Property Investing and have a small stack of other real estate books that I am planning on reading before year's end. I am definitely in the learning stage right now and can't get enough of the BP podcast. :)

I do not currently own any property, but my goal is to make my first deal by the end of 2018. My husband recently went back to school full-time, so we are a single income household until he is done in May 2018. My goal for next year is for us to use a FHA loan or low-money down on a multi-family property. I really like the idea of our first property being a "house hack" that would ultimately result in a rental property for the long-term. Ideally, this first purchase would be in the Long Beach area, since we'd be living in the property and that's where our jobs are, but I'm open to other locations within an hour commute, if the numbers make sense and if it's a safe neighborhood.

I'm excited to learn from everyone in the forums! I would also love to join or organize a local meet-up. I look forward to meeting more people in the BP community. :)

Thanks for reading,

Beth
