New Investor from Philadelphia, PA
Hey Everyone,
After listening to the podcast for a couple months I finally became a member of Bigger Pockets and it's really inspired me in a whole new way.
I'm from Philly yet have been living in Los Angeles as a working actor for the last 14 years. During this time I've worked as an apartment manager of a 20 unit building in L. A. in order to live rent free and focus all my time on acting and writing. Although I've had success in both, the ups and downs of the entertainment business, my experience as a building manager and desire for financial freedom separate from the industry pushed me toward real estate investing and the Bigger Pockets Podcast.
After listening for a couple months and narrowing my focus I realize that multi-family properties in Brewerytown and the surrounding areas are my primary focus. I went to high school in that area and have been blown away by the progress. I'm interested in learning more about the area as well as talking to other Bigger Pockets investors that are like minded.
I have a lot of experience in leasing and the ins and outs of building management. I am looking forward to meeting you all and learning all things associated with investing in Philly.
My goal is to acquire a couple multi-families in Philly each year for the next couple years and ultimately move back and write and shoot projects that are based on the people and city that I love.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to connecting with you all!

Philadelphia has a lot going on.
Brewerytown is happening/happened, and parts of Kensington are under development.
Areas people are buying are Pointe Breeze below Grad Hospital, Mantua, above Drexel, and certainly areas in Parkside because the existing structures are so nice. However, the areas south of Parkside, even a couple of streets off, seem a long way from happening, but I guess that's how every neighborhood seems at some point.
I live just south of Girard around 29th.
