Midwest Nebraskan Eager to Start in Commercial or Apartments
Hi BiggerPockets,
I'm brand new to real estate investing, and have been learning as much as possible recently. I'm focused on getting started asap. If you're serious about apartment or commercial real estate in the Midwest, I'd love to connect. I don't have experience to contribute, but would appreciate partnering on a deal or investing with someone with more experience. I'm financially ready and constantly learning.
Background: I'm 25 years old from small town Nebraska, and currently in Melbourne, Australia. I've been away from home for a year, spending 10 months in New Zealand and now down under. It's purely to explore after college and I will likely return to the states soon to begin my journey in real estate.
Goals: It's great to have specific goals to check off, but I haven't zeroed in on property criteria yet. Some type of apartment or commercial property would be ideal. A dreamlike scenario would be getting the property established and living in Southeast Asia for a while after that, but that's for later.
Currently Studying: I'm reading "Crushing it in Apartments and Commercial Real Estate" by Brian Murray, and moving to "Out of State" by R.M. Andrews next.
I've attended one property investor workshop in Melbourne just to get in the environment. I'm also attending a free Kiyosaki seminar next week (I know most people dislike him with a passion). These are just to keep my feet moving while I'm housesitting in Melbourne.
I've been avidly listening to the BiggerPocket's podcast, it's an amazing source and seems like a great community here. People always talk highly about it and that's awesome.
In Closing: It's a good feeling to be part of the BP community, and I'm excited to meet everyone here. I welcome anyone that wants to be friends or talk about opportunities. Realtor's website released an article 2 days ago placing Lincoln, Nebraska as the second best place for college graduates to live. I'm stoked to get started, thanks for reading!
