I've been interested in real estate for a few years now, but never really knew where to start. I had done some research (mostly googling how do i become a real estate investor) but mostly I just dreamed. One day I had an old friend contact me and tell me he had been doing real estate for a little while and he was merging his company with another investor's company and they wanted someone to work in their office. I've been doing that for about a month and a half now and mostly all I do is stuff envelopes, but they pay me really well for the work (enough that I don't have to work another job) and they are super great about answering my questions. Mostly what they do is wholesaling, but they do have a few buy and holds and owner financed properties as well. My plan and theirs is for me to work for them for several months to a year while I save up some money and gain the knowledge I need to start investing for myself. Once I have enough money my wife and I want to move somewhere that isn't Utah. We both have very large families and they all live right around us and its starting to get old. My bosses pointed me to the BP podcast as the very best possible source for real estate investing knowledge. At this point I'm most interested in in rehabbing and flipping houses as well as multifamily buy and hold properties.
