New member from Houston, Texas area

Hello! My name is Diane Krause, and I'm a licensed real estate agent in the Houston, Texas area. I'm new to real estate, having just gotten my license in September 2016. I'd considered real estate off and on for about 10 years, but it was never the right time to pursue it. But now, hubby and I are empty-nesters and mapping out our retirement plan. We'd like that plan to include real estate investing, so that goal was what prompted my entry into real estate. I plan to work production for a period of time, as it seems the best way to really learn the business. And, to earn some more money to invest! 

I'm currently a buyer's agent with a Keller Williams team in the Houston Clear Lake area. I had my first four closings in January 2017, and currently have several active buyer clients. 

Prior to real estate, I worked in editing and self-publishing -- work I love, but real estate pays much better. 

I'm a Native Texan and have lived in the Houston area for 30+ years. My husband and I have two grown kids, one awesome son-in-law, and one grandson. We live in Friendswood, Texas with two dogs and two cats. 

I only recently discovered Bigger Pockets while researching information on real estate investing. I've been a part of online networking communities in the past, and found them incredibly valuable. So I look forward to learning a lot here!
