Hello people! I have been eyeing my way to getting into this venture of Real Estate for a while now. A little about me, my name is David Herrera, I recently just got my Associate's in Business this past February, finally! It only took 4 years of trying to fight for core classes. Throughout those 4 years I have managed to freelance my way to helping with basic necessities such as gas, books, food, cell phone, insurance, car expenses etc, simply because I did not want to be a "crew member" of any job out there. McDonald's I am looking at you! By the way, I am 23 right now inching closer to 24 this December 6th. Time flies.

Not too long ago, my entrepreneur spirit embarked to which ended up as my first official business of my own. I partnered with a friend of mine to open up an Auto Shop in Upland but that was a project of it's own. With many rookie mistakes, I learned my lesson and the business quickly turned sour. Unfortunately things did not get better, a year later I am stuck with debt and trying to manage the scraps I have to make enough money to get out of the rut. Thanks to Uber, Lyft, and Amazon Flex I can work while I still manage my time which frankly, I have a lot. Which is why I decided to begin reading and researching here more than anything, besides reading books which actually has been very informative! So here I stand, or well, here I sit down I should say, writing to the BiggerPockets community forum which I feel like I probably belong here by reading all the great support from the mass community here. It almost seemed too good to be true, but I did my due diligence as you all say, and you won my heart. 

A little more to where I stand, I believe in helping others. I also believe that we live in an era where innovation is what is trending, as most of these corporations have already established themselves. With that said, I am against Corporate America. I want to help those who are in dire need much like Justin Stamper from Episode 201. I can really relate to what he was saying, and having him there convinced me that it's possible to Fight The Good Fight in the Real Estate industry. I am eager and determined. Much like Jay Papasan said in his recent video on BiggerPocket's YouTube page, along the lines of "I want to create passive income, so I can then work on my passion regardless of whether I make money writing, since that is what I love to do." I hear you Jay, I want to make a difference too. My BIG WHY is, to help my wonderful hardworking dad retire and enjoy his life, he is 58 soon to be 59. My second reason would be, I want to travel the world and help others in my time and not work for the dollar or even think about money anymore. It's November 30th today, but I am ready to learn. Thank you for making this far into reading my story.
