Newbie Architect from Miami looking for advice
Hello BiggerPockets community,
I am a young Architect roughly half-way done with licensure in Florida, looking to someday start my own architecture + real estate development firm in Canada. I am a big fan of the works of such architects as Jonathan Segal and John Portman, amongst others.
I look forward to your advice as I try to navigate the vast waters of real estate investment, finance and development. My first question for the community would be: where can I acquire measureable number-crunching, financial skills a developer would look for in a prospective project manager / development manager? I think that, combined with my knowledge of what makes a building successful from the design point of view and also my understanding of how to get a functional design approved and built could prove very valuable.
