Investor from Australia
Hey everyone.
A little about myself, I'm 31, a plumber by trade and have recently moved to the US with my wife so she can be with her family.
I have completed a number of real estate transactions over the last 10 years and currently have 2 rentals back in Aus.
I have sold my primary residence and using cash savings and equity (approx $200k usd) from that to start my investing career here.
Knowing how things work in Aus is one thing. The US is a new kettle of fish so I'm just doing all the reading I can.
My brother in law is interested in doing some JVS with us so that is fantastic from a capital point of view.
One delimma we are facing is having no credit rating yet (slowly working on it but seems to take ages)
Anyway that is a little about myself, look forward to meeting many like minded people and learning a lot, hopefully not the hard way!

Welcome to the forum Wazz :)
I wouldn't do a JV as they always seem to go sour.
Start small and do it yourself.
Focus on relationships first rather than the numbers.
I've done 400+ deals over the last 5 years and every time I lost money was due to a person and not the deal.
Thanks and much success
